Air Fryer French Bread Pizza

It’s no secret that I love pizza.

I mean looooove pizza, it’s my favorite food and I could eat it just about every day. And I’m not picky on those toppings, either. Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives…you name it, I’ll eat it. In fact, I love creating pizza-ish dishes and this pepperoni pizza  hamburger helper, instant pot pizza stuffed peppers, and slow cooker pizza chili are a few of my favorites.

And if you’re the same, then this French bread pizza recipe was made for you. It’s fast, easy, and perfect for a quick lunch or simple dinner.

With a loaf of bread, shredded cheese, your own pizza sauce or tomato sauce (whichever brand you prefer), and your favorite toppings, this easy recipe will become a family favorite.

The French baguette bakes up crispy, while the inside is soft and loaded with gooey cheese and all of the good stuff. And the best part? You can customize this depending on your tastes. Don’t like pepperoni? Swap it for bacon, ground beef, or veggies.

Unlike frozen, store-bought French bread pizzas, you can control exactly what goes in this dish and leave out what you don’t like.

This is also a fun way to make dinner with the kiddos. They’ll have fun adding their own toppings and creating their perfect pizza. And using an air fryer is so convenient, too. It takes less time than an oven gives this pizza just the right texture.

Crispy, crunchy, cheesy, and delicious…what more could you ask for?

Ingredients in Air Fryer French Bread Pizza:

  • Loaf of French bread
  • Olive oil
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Pizza sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni
  • Dried oregano

How to Make Air Fryer Pepperoni Pizza:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (if your model has that option)
  2. Slice the french bread in half length-wise, and then slice each piece in half again, so you should end up with four pieces.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over each piece of bread and then sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
  4. Place the bread slices in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 3 minutes to get the bread crisp. You may need to work in batches. Remove bread, top each piece with pizza sauce, shredded cheese, pepperoni, and oregano.
  5. Cook for 6-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve immediately.

How Do I Reheat French Bread Pizza?

Cook the pizza at 350°F for about 3-4 minutes, or until warmed through and melty.

Can I Put Frozen French Bread Pizzas in the Air Fryer?

Absolutely! Instead of defrosting your homemade French bread pizza (or store-bought version), you can cook it from frozen right in the air fryer basket. I like to cook it at 400°F for about 5-7 minutes, or until warmed though and the cheesy is melty.

Variations of French Bread Pizza:

There are so many different ways to customize this pizza, but here are a few of my favorites:

  • BBQ Chicken: Similar to these BBQ chicken quesadillas, a base of BBQ sauce and shredded chicken makes a delicious combination.
  • Breakfast Pizza with Eggs: I made a similar version a few years ago, and this would make a tasty air fryer recipe.
  • Veggie version: Load up those veggies! Green bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms sound delightful.
  • Taco French bread pizza: Load your favorite taco toppings onto the pizza for a fun spin on taco night.
  • Seasonings: I like to add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and oregano for some flavor. Red pepper flakes would also a great addition, too.
  • Homemade pizza sauce: I like to use a jarred sauce for convenience, but a homemade version or even marinara sauce works just as well.

What to Serve with French Bread Pepperoni Pizza:

I like to serve this pizza with a simple green salad or an easy appetizer, such as mozzarella sticks.
