One food that I seem to eat a lot more of as an adult than I did as a child is cereal.

Strange, right?

I grew up in a household where cereal was always around, and I could pretty much choose any kind I wanted for breakfast. My favorite was (and still is) Fruity PEBBLES™. In fact, if you’ve been hanging around you long enough, you might remember these donuts or that milkshake.

I loved slurping up a bowl in the mornings, and even had it as an after-school snack at times. But, cereal didn’t stop being apart of my meal routine as I got older.

In high school and college, I hardly ate breakfast, which means that cereal only happened as a late night snack or as a meal on the weekends. Although I’m still trying to break the habit of not eating breakfast in the mornings, I’m getting a lot better. My morning coffee is usually accompanied by cereal, yogurt, or a smoothie. Something to get my day off to a good start!

When I was shopping at Walmart last week, I came across a new and fun flavor of POST cereal. Cinnamon PEBBLES™ is a crispy rice cereal with the perfect combination of cinnamony sweetness. It’s the latest way from PEBBLES™ to make your mornings rock.

And since I’m all about Fruity PEBBLES™, I knew I had to buy a box (or three) of Cinnamon PEBBLES™. Because cereal is so versatile, it’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or for family outings. Fruity, Cocoa, and the special limited edition flavors have been making mornings fun for for kids and adults for over 40 years!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana sliced and frozen
  • ½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup milk any kind
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup Cinnamon PEBBLES™ or other cereal of choice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract

Toppings

  • Cinnamon Pebbles
  • Sliced apples
  • Granola
  • Chia seeds

Instructions

  • In the canister of a blender, combine the banana, yogurt, milk, applesauce, Cinnamon PEBBLES™, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  • Blend until reaches desired consistency.
  • Pour into a medium-sized bowl and sprinkle with toppings.

    I think I eat more cereal these days than as a kid too...not usually for breakfast, but for a snack. Love that you've made a delicious, healthy bowl here with the Cinnamon Pebbles. It's like a treat, but good for you and I can't think of a better way to start the day (oh, and with coffee, of course ;) ).

    I used to eat SO much cereal growing up and once I moved out I always had it and ate it at night. I don't eat it as much now, but my boys sure do! I loved Pebbles and this cinnamon flavor sounds delicious! This smoothie bowl is such a fun way to incorporate it into your breakfast!

    Oh goodness, all of this talk of cereal is totally making me crave ALL of it! I definitely remember your love of fruity pebbles--I mean, WHO could forget those AMAZING fruity pebble donuts??
