Even though Labor Day has come and gone, and I’ve got apples and pumpkins coming out of my ears, I’m still not wishing away summer just yet.
After all, it’s still hot outside and I’m still loving all of the summer foods while I still can.
And even though we grill quite often throughout the year, food just seems to taste better when it’s grilled in the summer. Am I right? I love having grilled meats, fish, vegetables and even fruit when I get the chance. Nothing tastes better than my dinner prepared on a hot grill.
And because it’s now tailgating season, too, I’ll take any excuse that I can get to whip up some delicious game time foods.

And you know me, I’m all about caprese anything and salads all day, every day. So, it only seemed natural that I take my love for caprese salad and combine it with avocados and MorningStar Farms Meat Lovers Burgers. It’s a tasty dish that was made for summer entertaining and tailgating.
This Avocado Caprese Burger Salad really couldn’t get any easier to make. But, that’s goes without saying around here, right?
To start, you’ll want to grill the MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers according to the package directions. While the Meat Lovers Burgers are cooking, prepare the salad ingredients. The balsamic dressing can be made ahead of time and is a breeze to whip up. I like to mix everything together in a mason jar and store it in the fridge for when my salad cravings strike.
Then, you’ll layer some mixed greens in a large bowl, followed by some diced avocado, halved cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella pearls. Pour the dressing on top and lightly toss to combine. Now it’s time for those burgers! Top with salad with the grilled MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers and then drizzle some balsamic glaze over everything. And that’s it!
Not only is this Avocado Caprese Burger Salad a cinch to make, but you can also prepare it ahead of time and then add the avocado, dressing and MorningStar® Farm Meat Lovers Burgers when ready to serve.

Avocado Caprese Burger Salad
Ingredients
Balsamic Dressing
- ⅔ cup white balsamic vinegar
- ½ cup olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Salad
- 4 MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers
- 5 cups mixed greens
- 1 avocado, pitted and diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella pearls
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Balsamic glaze for drizzling, if desired (I used a store-bought glaze that I found near the vinegar section of my grocery store)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium according to package directions. Place frozen MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers onto grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through.
- While MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers are grilling, prepare dressing. In a small bowl or medium mason jar with lid, add white balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk in bowl or screw on lid to mason jar and shake to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve salad.
- In a large bowl, combine mixed greens and top with diced avocado, halved tomatoes, and mozzarella pearls. Season with salt and pepper. Add dressing and gently toss to combine. If preparing ahead of time, wait to add dressing until ready to serve.
- Top salad with grilled MorningStar® Farms Meat Lovers Burgers and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
