Sometimes you just need a snack.

And not just any snack, but one filled with lots of flavor and lots of nutrients.

Am I right? When those mid-afternoon or late night snack attacks happen, you better watch out!

I’ve talked about this before, but one of my favorite, healthier snacks is a handful of almonds. With so many flavors and varieties to chose from, I never get tired of this treat.

Almonds are naturally full of heart healthy goodness, such as a high level of monounsaturated (or good) fats, cholesterol and sodium free, and a good source of the antioxidant vitamin E. They are are also gluten free, perfect for weight management, provides energy and powerful nutrition. I never have to worry about getting some protein and fiber in my diet when I’m munching on almonds.

And in addition to February being Almond Month, it’s also American Heart Month (perfect for Valentine’s Day) and National Snacking Month! Almonds are also extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of recipes. Carrying almonds is also a great habit that’s easy and good for you, due to the protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

Did you know that a healthy handful of chopped or whole almonds provides up to 25% fewer calories than previously thought? Research also shows that munching on 1.5 ounces of almonds every day can curb appetite, without increasing body weight or calorie intake.

And that’s where almonds come into play. These Easy Chili Almonds are a simple snack that’s packed with deliciousness. Roasted in a skillet and tossed with zesty flavors, these almonds are perfect for those snack cravings!

I didn’t know February was National Almond month! Nuts are my go-to when I’m hungry and want something quick to curb the stomach growls 🙂 And I never feel guilty about eating them, which is always a good thing! I always have nuts in the house….which reminds me I’m getting low. Now would be the perfect time to make these! I love the spice and cilantro addition. Pinned, of course. Happy Monday to ya!
