Let’s talk about cereal for a minute.
Are you a cereal fanatic? Only eat it once in a while? Or left it behind in your childhood?
Let’s start with the hubster. He loves cereal, but he’s a total creature of habit. Cheerios are his cereal of choice. Not the honey nut version, not the chocolatey ones, just plain ‘ole Cheerios. For as long as I’ve known him, that’s the only cereal he eats.
Myself, on the other hand? I loooove cereal! I feel like I actually enjoy it more now as an adult than I did as a kid. And that’s probably because I loving munching on the kid-approved cereals that take me back to my childhood, such as Fruity Pebbles (my favorite!), Froot Loops, and Trix. With the occasional Special K or Honey Bunches of Oats variety thrown in for when I want to feel more adult-like.
While I don’t slurp down a bowl every day, cereal is a treat that I enjoy every now and then.
And I’ve decided to resurrect my love for this breakfast food by making these sweet and salty cereal bars.
These No-Bake Sweet and Salty Cereal Bars are perfect for when those cravings strike. Filled with Honey Nut Cheerios, honey roasted peanuts, pretzels, and chocolate candies, these bars are the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Let’s face it, team sweet and salty wins every time. Am I right?
And you can’t get much better than this, friends. The sweetness from the Honey Nut Cheerios, pretzel M&Ms (which also doubly as salty!), and milk chocolate M&Ms pairs perfectly with the saltiness from the from the honey roasted peanuts and pretzels.
Mix that all together and you have an a deliciously sweet and salty, ooey-gooey, chewy cereal bar! Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or any time in between, these bars will definitely cure those munchies whenever they strike!

Sweet and salty are a match made in heaven! I could munch down on these all day long! Pinned!
Definitely the best.
Sweet/salty is my jam!! I love cereal too, but mostly go for the ‘fibre’ kind, but will treat myself to a sweeter one every now and then. I mostly eat cereal for a snack, and rarely for breakfast! Funny thing! These sound delicious, Gayle! And love that they are no bake! Pinned! Have an awesome weekend!!
I love eating cereal for a snack too…it’s the best! Thanks for the pin and sweet comment, Dawn!
Sweet and salty absolutely wins every time. I love cereal, too, but wouldn’t imagine eating it alone for breakfast now. No way I’d stay full! Isn’t it funny how perceptions of food change over time? Cereal is definitely a treat food now!
Sweet and salty is definitely the best! Thanks, Melissa!
Oh my goodness, Gayle. These are heaven!
I’m a cereal addict, and I’m like you — I can eat it in just about any variety (whereas my husband has eaten the same Honey Bunches of Oats for our entire marriage)!
These salty-and-sweet bars would disappear quickly in our house — especially with my kiddos!
Have a great weekend!
Thank you, Blair! These bars are perfect for us cereal addicts! 🙂
Love cereal. And these cereal bars look so good! The sweet and salty combination is always a winner! Pinning to try these!
Thanks, Mira! Sweet and salty is the BEST! 🙂
I’ve always loved cereal and since I love sweet and salty desserts it’s safe to say that I’d be crazy about these. These wouldn’t last long in my house at all!
Thanks, Marcie!
