You could say that I’m kind of a wrap snob. A sandwich type wrap snob, to be exact. You see, I love wraps, they’re one of my favorite items to order at a restaurant for lunch or a casual dinner, but I’m picky about them. Not so picky about what goes inside the wrap, but how it will stand up to being handled. Have I lost you yet?
I base how good a wrap is by how much it falls apart when I eat it. I can get crabby when it’s hard to eat my food, so I don’t like wraps that break, are oozing out with food, or are just plain messy. In fact, my husband can tell by just my face if I’m “mad” at my food. It’s ok..you can call me silly, but I’m selective about my wraps!
So when I wanted to make my own wrap for lunch, I knew it had to meet my high standards. Not only did the wrap itself have to hold together, but the inside had to be delicious. Sure, anyone can throw in some turkey, cheese, veggies, and call it a wrap (no pun intended), but I wanted mine to have a little extra pizzazz, especially since I was making it for the hubster.
Thus, this Turkey Provolone Wrap with Avocado Mayo was born! The name pretty much sums it up…fresh turkey slices, provolone cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce envelope a tomato tortilla, topped with avocado mayonnaise. And if you’re anything like me, avocados and mayonnaise are almost a necessity on every single wrap and sandwich that I eat.
The inside of the wrap contains fairly standard ingredients, but what I’m most excited about is the avocado mayo. It compliments this Turkey and Provolone Wrap so well and gives it a nice flavor.
Simply mash one avocado and add two to three tablespoons of mayonnaise to a bowl, then mix. That’s it! You then have yourself a tasty avocado mayo spread. Perfect for wraps, sandwiches, or as a veggie dip.
