Peppermint French Toast

With just a few ingredients and minimal prep time, this easy breakfast recipe is perfect for the holidays!

• Challah or Texas Toast

ingredients

• Milk

• Eggs

• Peppermint extracts

• Cinnamon and nutmeg

1.

In a medium bowl, whisk milk, half-and-half, eggs, sugar, vanilla, peppermint extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

2.

Dip bread into egg mixture and lightly press down to coat both sides. Let excess drip off before placing onto skillet.

3.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Transfer bread to skillet and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with rest of bread slices.

4.

Serve immediately with crushed candy canes, whipped cream, and/or chocolate sauce, if desired.

5.

French toast is generally best served right away, as the longer it sits, the more it’s likely to get soggy. Although it won’t taste as good (or keep the texture) you can make ahead if you’re short on time.
