Ingredients

  • 1-1½ cup honey (depends on how sweet you like your lemonade)
  • 1 tablespoon food-grade lavender petals (or 2 tablespoons lavender syrup)
  • 5 cups water (divided)
  • 3 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Purple food coloring
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices and mint for garnish (if desired)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat honey and 2 cups of water over medium heat, stirring until the honey is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove from heat and stir in lavender until dissolved. If using petals, strain from liquid.
  • Allow the honey mixture to cool completely and then add in the purple food coloring (if using) and stir to combine.
  • Pour honey mixture into a large pitcher and then add lemon juice and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir until well combined.
  • If serving right away, add ice and lemon slices and mint (if desired). Pour into glasses and enjoy. If serving for later, refridgerate until ready to consume.

Notes

  • Lemonade will last in the refrigerator for up to four days.
  • Lavender can be strong, so be sure to taste as you go if you want to use more than the recipe calls for. If using lavender syrup, this is my favorite kind.
  • Purple food coloring is not needed, it just makes the lemonade a  pretty color. Without it, it will look like regular lemonade.
