Chicken Parmesan Burgers are juicy, flavorful, and ready in just 20 minutes. With fresh mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce, this easy dinner is perfect for burger night!
In a large mixing bow, combine chicken, ¼ cup marinara sauce, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, onion and garlic powders, salt and pepper. Mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, or burgers will be tough. Form mixture into four even patties.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the burgers for 5-6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165℉.
While the burgers are cooking, heat the remaining ½ cup of marinara sauce in a small saucepan.
Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the heat, add a heaping spoonful of marinara and top with a slice of fresh mozzarella. Cover the pan and allow the burgers to sit for a few minutes until the cheese melts. Alternatively, if your skillet is oven safe, you can place the burgers under the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
Serve the burgers on toasted buns with extra marinara, if desired.
Notes
Leftover burgers will last in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Form chicken mixture into patties and then freeze the burgers on a sheet pan until solid. Then, wrap in foil or plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe container or bag in the freezer for up to two months.
