This Baked Parmesan Crusted Chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and made with simple pantry ingredients. Tender chicken breasts are coated in a buttery parmesan panko crust and baked until golden and crunchy. It’s an easy weeknight dinner that perfect for everyone!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced in half lengthwise to form 4-6 pieces)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400℉. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Add melted butter to a small bowl or shallow dish. In another bowl or shallow dish, add breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper and stir well to combine.
  • Dip chicken pieces into melted butter, coating on each side. Then dunk chicken pieces into breadcrumb mixture, coating each side. Places pieces onto prepared baking pan.
  • Spray the tops of chicken pieces lightly with cooking spray (this will help achieve that golden color). Bake for 10 minutes, flip each piece, and continue baking 8-10 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Remove from oven and let sit for several minutes before serving. This will help the chicken retain that juicy texture.
