Did you know that salmon is one of the dishes that I make most in my kitchen?
If you didn’t, that’s ok, because I’ve failed to share that around here! With only a couple other salmon recipes on Pumpkin ‘N Spice, I’ve kind of dropped the ball on my favorite type of fish.
The hubster and I eat salmon often, at least once or twice a month. It’s on the healthier side, requires minimal ingredients, and is easy to customize depending on your tastes. It also makes a simple meal for those busy weeknights. And we all could use more of those!
When I was shopping at Walmart last week, I came across the McCormick Garlic, Herb, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All-Purpose Seasoning. McCormick’s new blends are versatile, have transparent ingredients, and allow for “recipe free cooking” and “cooking as performance art.”
After stocking up on the McCormick Garlic, Herb, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All-Purpose Seasoning, I headed home to whip up a simple dish that would allow me to ‘wing it’ in the kitchen, so to speak!
You know me, I’m all about the easy meals around here. One of my favorite kitchen hacks is using a seasoning on seafood, chicken, and beef. It makes the dish full of flavor, yet keeps it simple, and that’s what I aim for in the kitchen.

- McCormick Garlic Herb, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All-Purpose Seasoning
How to Make Asparagus, Salmon, and Potatoes
This garlic salmon with potatoes and asparagus is seasoned to perfection, warm, and comforting. The sheet pan salmon is flake-tender, the potatoes are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, and the asparagus is crisp-tender. Just the way a sheet pan meal should be!
- Halve some baby potatoes. Add them to a large ziploc bag and pour in a touch of olive oil and McCormick Garlic, Herb, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All-Purpose Seasoning.
- Shake the bag, ensuring that all of the potatoes are coating in the seasoning mixture.
- Then, spread onto a baking sheet and pop it in the oven to roast.
- While the potatoes are roasting, it’s time to whip up the salmon glaze. In a small bowl, melt some unsalted butter and then stir in some McCormick Garlic, Herb, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All-Purpose Seasoning.
- Once the potatoes are ready, remove the pan from the oven, push potatoes to the side, and add the salmon filets. Drizzle with the butter mixture and lightly spread to coat each piece.
- Add the trimmed asparagus, along with a touch of olive oil, salt and pepper, to the pan, and your meal is almost ready.
- Pop it into the oven and let it work its magic.
If you’re on the hunt for your next easy dinner idea, look no further. Grab those ingredients and get ready to make this sheet pan salmon dinner over and over again!
Can I Use Frozen Salmon Filets?
Most likely, yes. You’ll need to thaw and pat them with a paper towel before baking.
Can I Pair Different Veggies with Garlic Baked Salmon?
Want different side dishes for your baked salmon besides asparagus and potatoes? No problem! You can easily switch up the veggies to suit whatever is in your fridge. Just keep in mind that all veggies bake at different rates, so you may need to adjust the cook time.
Tips for Making Salmon with Potatoes and Asparagus
If you don’t have the seasoning blend on hand, a mixture of garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper will also work well.
I used baby potatoes, but I’m sure your could use any kind of potato you have on hand. Just make sure to cut the potatoes into even-sized pieces so they cook at the same rate.
This salmon sheet pan dinner is best fresh, but leftovers can be gently reheated the next day. Or, add any leftover fish and veggies to a salad or grain bowl!
